Report: Cesspools Polluting Long Island Waterways - An environmental group said cesspools in Long Island's Suffolk County were releasing high levels of nitrogen into the area's waterways. Long Island Town Bans Pit Bulls, Rottweilers - They say town lawmakers are barking up the wrong tree. The vicious snarling on Tuesday wasn't coming from the dogs lined up around the block; rather it was from their owners who were furious over a weeks-old law banning pit bulls and Rottweilers in the village of Rockville Center.
