LIPA Lowering Bills (CBS 2 New York) - The Long Island Power Authority is lowering its monthly bills to homeowners by an average of $6.20. Commercial customers will see an average drop of about $70 a month. LIPA says lower fuel costs and higher-than-expected summer revenue allows it to cut bills by 4 percent this month. The rate cut is expected to take effect October 16.
